Those sweet lies…
I savor the remains of the sticky confection
on my lips.
My saliva retracts each blissful moment.
My ravenous hunger unsatisfied.
Foolishly I engorge every morsel.
Never knowing the sugary circumference
Is but a disguise.
Hiding the sour truth.
Inedible realities covered in sweet indulgence.
Carefully packaged as …”hard facts”.
Supply and demand is absurd
You’re another hapless member of the herd,
Over fed and led to slaughter.
Who will you believe?
Who can you?
We are all like the candy man,
Packaging and selling our own truths
While the masses get fat
On lies and facts.
